Hometown Market and Fireworks on Agenda at Logansport Chamber Meeting

By Nicole Tull

The Logansport Chamber of Commerce had their monthly meeting at the Logansport Library Tuesday evening, May 3rd. There were no new businesses to recognize but members are always welcome and encouraged to join at any time.

As the group dined over Beth Walker’s red beans and rice, there was much discussion concerning regular business and the upcoming events at hand. Much praise was given over the recent Eggs-stravaganza and what a big success it was. Several hundred attended.

The upcoming Hometown Market will start this month. The third Saturday of every month from May until October there will be vendors on the riverfront. Patrons can expect a farmer’s market and craft market type environment.

The July 4th fireworks event is coming up. DeSoto Fire District 1 sponsors the festive event. Music and festivities will start mid-afternoon. Fireworks will commence at dark.

The last point of business was drawing a door prize. Jim Barron won a bag of goodies from Blount Pharmacy in Joaquin. The next meeting will be 6:00pm Tuesday, June 7th at the Logansport library. All are encouraged to attend.
