In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month 2023 celebrated from September 15 to October 15, Mansfield State Historic Site will put on a one-hour presentation on Saturday, September 30 from 2 – 3pm discussing Hispanic descent that served during the American Civil War and later wars, such as David Farragut of the United States Navy and Santos Benavides of the Confederate Army.

Join in to exchange seeds, cuttings, bulbs and other garden related items. Dwain Spillman will discuss Vermiculture and will have Worm Compost. DeSoto Parish Cattlemen’s Association 4th Quarter Meeting is Monday, October 16. Bubba Rutherford with Rutherford Land and Cattle will give an outlook on the cattle market for 2024. RSVP to jsalley@agcenter.lsu.edu by October 13 for the meal count. This will be the last meeting for 2023.
