DeSoto Parish Sheriff Jayson Richardson has graduated from the FBI’s Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

The DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office announced Richardson’s completion of the prestigious Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar, or LEEDS, an intensive two-week executive leadership program.

The highly selective program brings together approximately 35 police chiefs, sheriffs and other senior law enforcement executives from across the United States and partner nations.

Participants receive advanced training covering leadership, organizational management, officer wellness, public trust, crisis leadership and emerging public-safety challenges.

According to DPSO, Richardson’s completion of the program represents an investment in the future of the Sheriff’s Office, with the knowledge, professional relationships and perspectives gained through LEEDS expected to support the agency’s continued growth and modernization.

The Sheriff’s Office said Richardson’s participation also reflects his continued commitment to improving the professional public-safety services provided to DeSoto Parish residents.

DPSO congratulated Richardson on the achievement, describing him as one of the hardest-working sheriffs in the country and noting his continued efforts to grow and develop as a leader for both the department and the community he serves.
