Overall Best Float went to the DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office for their Academy Awards themed float. There was a star memorializing their own officer, Deputy Donna Richardson-Below. The parade just happened to roll on the anniversary of her death.
Past Royalty passed a good time with a lively float. Princess Joye’s float was full of joyful folks representing her. Finally, the Krewe of Aquarius ended the parade with flying flair. King Jayson Richardson and Queen Tammy Thomas were riding high in the krewe float. As they rolled by you could see another memorial to Teri Hawsey on the back of their float. She was passionately involved in the community.
