DeSoto Schools is encouraging students to work hard and finish strong this week! Spring Break is on its way. DeSoto Schools will be out next week April 11-18. Classes resume April 19.
On the 7th of April come out and join us at the Stonewall Community Center in Stonewall, LA at 6:30 pm or the Men Of Prayer meeting. Robbie Gatti will be the guest speaker and Robby Coburn from Open Road Fellowship will be leading the Worship. And there will be a free meal. Food, Fellowship and God Thursday night in Stonewall.
This weekend is the 42nd re-enactment of the Battle of Pleasant Hill. Experience history firsthand on the original battlefield where it all happened in 1864. You can feel the history exuding from the land so come share this experience. Honor, heritage, history will all be celebrated at the Battle of Pleasant Hill April 9 and10.
Louisiana Tech University’s Science and Technology Education Center (SciTEC) and Department of Mathematics & Statistics will partner to offer a two-day math workshop for local teachers interested in preparation for teaching dual enrollment classes. The workshop, sponsored by Region 8 STEM Center (SCILS), will be held from 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 29-30. In addition to the spring workshop, the graduate course Math 401 will be offered during the summer. Completing these activities can bring aspiring and current teachers one step closer to being able to teach math dual enrollment in the classrooms of district partners.
Tickets are still available for Flavor of Louisiana and the Greek Centennial Celebration at Northwestern State University this weekend. The two events have been postponed the last two years but have returned by popular demand. Flavor of Louisiana will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, April 8 in Prather Coliseum. Tickets are $75 per person and $125 per couple.
