Jerry Edward Dunn

Funeral services for Jerry Edward Dunn, 75, will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Keithville, 6295 Williams Rd., Keithville, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Longstreet Cemetery in Longstreet, Louisiana at 2:00 p.m. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Officiating the service will be Bro. Mike Stowell and Bro. Timothy Roberson.

Jerry was born on March 8, 1947 to Wiley Pierce Dunn, Sr. and Maudine Norman Dunn in Lake Charles, Louisiana and passed away at home on Tuesday, July 19, 2022.

Jerry was a resident of Longstreet. He graduated from Longstreet High School and married his high school sweetheart, Charlotte. He began his career as a welder in Sulphur, Louisiana. He then completed a 37-year career as a diesel locomotive electrician for KCS Railroad. He graduated from Longstreet High School and married his high school sweetheart, Charlotte. His hobbies included woodworking, jerry-riggin’, golfing and fishing. He loved living the country life.

He was a man of great character with a personality to match. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved his wife, children and grandchildren with all his heart and soul. He enjoyed time with his family and playing “spookhouse,” hosting cousin camp and just having fun. He spent most of his time camping. He enjoyed hiking and traveling the U.S. He loved hosting friends and family for cards and games. He loved his God, his church, and his church family. They were his heart as well!

Jerry is preceded in death by his brother, Wiley Pierce Dunn, Jr.; son-in-law, Christopher Connell; granddaughters, Alynna Connell, Halea Dorbritz and Hannah Fenton. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Charlotte; children – Dena Fenton and husband, Darryl, Darren Dunn, Debrah Connell Linn and husband, Dave, Denise Dorbritz and husband, Drew; sisters, Ruth Moseley and Mary DePrang; grandchildren, Keene Dunn, Chelsea Hill, Kirsten Smith, Tucker Connell, Aubrey Connell, Danelie Connell, Zeke Dorbritz and Zoey Dorbritz.

Honoring Jerry as pallbearers will be his nephews, Scott McCollum, Randy McCollum, Geoff Moseley, Lorne Moseley, Darryl Moseley, Ronnie Dunn and Jerry Dunn. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons, Keene Dunn, Tucker Connell and Zeke Dorbritz.
