The regularly scheduled meeting Of the Mansfield Rotary Club on 9/14/22 at the Mansfield Female College Museum Library for lunch featured Melanie Glenn of our local Bon Chasse Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She told the club that the D.A.R. nationally has entered into the “Service to America Project” with a recycling company to make park benches for Veterans parks and other facilities. These benches will be made completely of re-cycled plastic goods and provided free of charge by the ladies.
Glenn said she is not asking for a financial contribution only that you save your plastic bottle caps and lids. Think of the caps on water bottles or detergent jugs and spray can caps or bowl lids from dairy products or any items like that you would normally trash, can now be of use and for a good cause. In fact, several of the lunch group left their water bottle caps for her AND the first one was from Judge Amy McCartney.
Please collect your plastic lids and caps and bring them to Van Reech at the Mansfield Female College Museum who has volunteered his office as one of the collection centers. Let’s show some support for this worthy cause.
The Mansfield Rotary meets every other Wed., and the next scheduled meeting is October 11.
