The Logansport Chamber of Commerce had their monthly meeting at the Logansport Library Monday evening, October 10th. The regular meeting date is usually the first Monday, but due to conflict of so many members, it was moved to this date for this month.
Cheese enchiladas, fajitas and the fixins from Mayte’s was the evening meal. Life is Sweet provided dessert. Ashley Rambin of Joaquin owns Life is Sweet. She is a cottage baker from Joaquin, Texas giving that cookie place in the big city a run for their money.
Current chamber business discussed was continuing to move forward with the chamber office downtown. It will take a little bit of time before the Chamber can take possession and start renovating. Pumpkin Glow on the Riverfront will take place on Saturday, October 29. You can start bringing pumpkins at 5:30. There will be candy, judging, and a movie will be shown afterwards.
Future business discussed was Christmas Dinner for Chamber members. Big Zach’s was the place chosen. December 8th at 6:00pm will be the date and time for the dinner.
Joellen Wilke won the door prize. It was a gift certificate from Mayte’s, the Mexican restaurant east of town. The next meeting in November will be canceled due to the president having surgery and other conflicts. December Christmas Dinner will serve as the next meeting, although much business will not be discussed. January is the projected timeframe for the next official Chamber meeting.
