Sheriff Jayson Richardson has chosen the “Friends of the Library” in Logansport as this month’s recipient of our local whisker charity donation! Several months ago, Sheriff Richardson began a new effort to highlight and give back to our local DeSoto Parish Non-Profit Charities. Each month, Deputies can donate $20 to grow out their beards, and at the end of the month those donations are given to a group that Sheriff Richardson has personally chosen. The month of October marks over $10,000 donated in the past 10 months, and the Friends of the Library received a donation of $1,040 this month!
Friends of the Library is a group that assists the local library by hosting and participating in events such as: Breakfast with Santa, Letters to Santa, Veterans Day Programs, Trick or Treat at the Library, Easter Programs, Summer Reading Programs, Book Signings, and much more. They put forth a ton of effort to ensure our kids have fun, educational, and interactive things to do in our Parish.
