The Logansport Chamber of Commerce had their monthly meeting at the Logansport Library on Tuesday evening, November 5, 2023. The members and guests dined on J&B BBQ’s Jambalaya.
Bubba Clark spoke to the Chamber about his intentions to be involved with the community as a Police Juror should he be elected. He explained that a juror is more than just road concerns. He wants to be available to the community’s concerns. A basketball court for the community was an example of something he’s like to have for the Logansport area.
Lisa Lobrano Burson spoke to the Chamber regarding her bid for Clerk of Court. She says she did not feel right to complain about community problems without offering a solution, so she decided to run for office. A question she answered from a chamber member was about her law practice. There are no practicing lawyers seated as a Clerk of Court presently to serve as a guide for her decision, but she explained that she will suspend her practice to be fully committed to serving the parish.
In other chamber business, on the Saturday after Thanksgiving there will be a concert on the riverfront. Bryan Martin & Friends HomeTown Thanksgiving Show will have a stellar lineup of talents. Tickets are be available for prepurchase. Also on the riverfront, there will be a Veterans program on Saturday, November 11th at 10:30 am.
There will be no regular meeting in December. The next meeting will be 6:00pm Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at the Logansport library.
