The City of Mansfield has been awarded more than $2.6 million in federal and state funding to support critical water and sewer infrastructure improvements throughout the community, city officials announced Thursday.

Mayor Thomas Jones said the funding package includes three separate grants that will help strengthen the city’s essential infrastructure, improve public services, and address the long-term needs of Mansfield’s growing community.

The funding awards include:

$1,015,000 in federal funding secured through Congressman Cleo Fields.

$720,000 in additional federal funding secured through Congressman Cleo Fields.

$900,000 in state funding through Louisiana’s Community Development Block Grant (LCDBG) program.

According to the city, the combined investment will be used to enhance Mansfield’s water and sewer systems, providing infrastructure improvements designed to better serve residents now and into the future.

City officials expressed appreciation for the support received from both federal and state partners in securing the funding.

“The City of Mansfield appreciates the continued partnership of our federal and state leaders in helping secure funding that benefits our residents,” the city said in its announcement.

No timeline for the projects or additional details regarding specific improvements were immediately released.
