DeSoto Parish Schools welcome 11 resident teachers for 2026–2027 school year

DeSoto Parish Schools has officially welcomed 11 resident teachers who will serve across the district during the 2026–2027 school year, marking the beginning of the next generation of educators’ professional journey.

The new resident teachers represent Northwestern State University, Louisiana Tech University, and LSU Shreveport. Throughout the school year, they will gain hands-on classroom experience while working alongside veteran educators in schools across DeSoto Parish.

District leaders said the residency program is designed to provide aspiring teachers with the mentorship, collaboration, and practical experience needed to build successful careers in education while supporting student learning throughout the parish.
