A group of talented young athletes representing North DeSoto Upper Elementary recently brought home hardware after an impressive performance at the Cajun World Series in Lafayette.
From June 18-21, the North DeSoto Griffin baseball team competed in eight games, battling through a challenging tournament field before earning a 2nd Runner-Up finish in the Silver Bracket.
School officials praised the team’s determination and effort throughout the tournament, noting that the players “left it all on the field” during four days of competition.
What makes the accomplishment even more remarkable is the unique makeup of the team. While many travel baseball teams are assembled from players attending multiple schools, every member of this squad proudly represents North DeSoto Upper Elementary.
School leaders said the team’s shared school pride, strong friendships, and commitment to one another helped fuel their success on the diamond.
“The bond, teamwork, and pride they share as ND Griffins make this accomplishment even sweeter,” the school said in a social media post celebrating the team.
The tournament finish highlights not only the players’ athletic ability but also the strong sense of community and teamwork that continues to define North DeSoto athletics.
North DeSoto Upper Elementary congratulated the Griffins on an outstanding tournament and their impressive showing at one of Louisiana’s premier youth baseball events.
