Mansfield Police Department partners with VetStrong for 2026 community hope walk

The Mansfield Police Department is partnering with the DeSoto Parish VetStrong Suicide Prevention Coalition for the 2026 Community Hope Walk, an event aimed at raising awareness for suicide prevention and encouraging conversations about mental health.

The Community Hope Walk will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, with registration beginning at 8 a.m.

The route will begin at Mansfield City Hall, continue to the DeSoto Parish Courthouse Square and then return to Mansfield City Hall.

Organizers said the event is intended to bring the community together while reinforcing the message that every life has value and that hope and support are available.

Throughout the walk, participants will have opportunities to Choose Hope, Share Hope, Carry Hope and Spread Hope through activities and messages along the route.

Participants are encouraged to wear blue for hope. Families are welcome to attend, and water will be provided.

Those interested in participating can pick up a registration form at 700 Franklin Street.

The Mansfield Police Department encouraged community members to participate in the event and support the DeSoto Parish VetStrong Suicide Prevention Coalition’s efforts to promote awareness, hope and community support.
