Heavy thunderstorms swept through the parish and northwest Louisiana on Thursday leaving some damage along its path. A twister was spotted near Stanley.
The sheriff’s department said there had been no report of injuries, however they posted several pictures of storm damage on their social media sites. The tornado was reported not far from Stanley High School. They said the school sent out a notification that all of the kids were safe at school.
Some tornado damage was reported along Highway 763 in Stanley.
There was a major tree down on Highway 84, just east of Blunt Mill Rd. That caused an accident and the sheriff’s department reported everyone involved is ok and the roadway has now been reopened.
